Good Morning! After a grrrrreat sleep, we are now ready to start the day. Sitting together at the table, enjoying a great cup of Guatemalan coffee, even if it is made from second rate beans, ask Jenny about that! Ernie got up around 5am to head to Guatemala City with Romiero to get the final stamp of approval, literally, pick up the meds from the airport, and come on back to Gualan so that we are able to provide the medical care that we came to do. The plan for us today while we are waiting for Ernie's return is to go to the group "Hearts in Motion" at an orphanage and feeding center in Gualan, visit the Resurrection Church and school where Pastor Luis is the man, Los Limones to see the families that CALMS had built the houses for last year, and possibly a bit of site seeing. Sorry Ernie!
So for now, we are going to hang out and we will get back to all of you later on tonight. Thank you al for your support and prayers, it is greatly appreciated! We love you all and look forward to giving you many more updates over the next week.
Jeremy! How was the flight? Same events at the airport? I am thinking of you... I will think of all of you all day and all night. Squeeze those children tight! I'm sending prayers :) LOVE YOU! Send my love to everyone there!
ReplyDeleteJust got word, Dr. Ernie is on his way to the team with the medicines. Great news!
ReplyDeleteLori, We visited Florinda and gave her hug from you.The area looks so differnt. It has really grown with more homes. We also saw Pastor Luis and his wife and met some of the teachers. They painted all the buildings aqua and light yellow. They also built some concrete tables and benches outside. The group was given a tour of the school and church. They now have 140 students up to 6 grade. They have done a lot!!!
ReplyDeleteJoy and I also saw Tanya. She is is 6th grade. It is so good to see the people we met. Carla looks terrific Nancy. I told her you think of her often. It is so nice and waarm. I actually put on my sun screen. Jenny shows me her children playing in the snow and I will not complain of the heat.
